Round one of the Arizona State Championship Series took place this last weekend at Arizona's newest Nitro facility. The Lopez family from previous Silver State Nitro challenge fame saw a need for a great track in Tucson Arizona. They wanted to bring something that is for the racers (being racers themselves) in a safe family atmosphere. All classes are welcome.
They were able to get everything in place for the kick off race of the ACS and it was enjoyed by everyone. Losi had a great weekend sweeping both Expert and intermediate classes. Expert Truggy saw Losi's Casey Peck taking the TQ and win with fellow Tucsonian Brian Kinwald who was fighting a nasty cold in the second spot. Losi team mate Trevor Clement fought a great battle and came from a bad start to finish third. In the highly coveted expert buggy class It was Clement who Tq'ed this time and looked to have the main wrapped up. Unfortunately he had to retire early which left Peck and Losi's Mike Friery to take the 1-2 finish.
